The Mitocondri is a research group tending to create new expressive formulas through ricombination of various artistic languages.
This is achieved through cooperation between musicians, video artists, actors and so on.
Every Mitocondri performance acts as a continuous dialog between istitutionalized and avant-guarde forms of art in order to evidence tensions and contacts contained within.

The main characteristic of projects maturing in the Mitocondri is improvisation. This technique is the basis in artistic interaction, acting as a cathartic transport onto other members of individual artistic experiences. The kind of spontaneity outflowing from this technique donates the chance to creates a dialog which stimulates own experiences.
This kind of upbringing functions, on behalf of the Mitocondri, in order to provide the spectator a different fruition of the performance, thus becoming more involving, more invasive, contesting the unidirectionality and passivity of modern art approach.
